AirSentry采用超靈敏的MCT (mercury-cadmium-telluride) 檢測(cè)器，為了提高紅外檢測(cè)的靈敏度，需要提供低溫溫度(77 kelvin)。AirSentry沒(méi)有使用常規(guī)的液氮冷卻系統(tǒng)，采用自動(dòng)斯特林馬達(dá)制冷機(jī)，該類制冷器最初為了中制冷技術(shù)技術(shù)設(shè)計(jì)的，最近逐漸商業(yè)化。AirSentry成功的使用這些技術(shù)，并且對(duì)測(cè)量結(jié)果沒(méi)有產(chǎn)生影響。
