這是樹脂與加速劑混合提供的一種包埋介質(zhì)，包埋塊的形成過程也即樹脂聚合的過程。通常條件下，這個(gè)過程是放熱的，但是產(chǎn)生的熱是可以用冰或者冷空氣流動(dòng)來進(jìn)行控制。冷包埋樹脂特別適用于對(duì)熱或者壓力敏感的樣品。這里介紹三種材料科學(xué)上常用的冷鑲嵌（試樣浸漬）樹脂：
1. Expoxy systems 環(huán)氧樹脂類
Epofix環(huán)氧樹脂包埋劑（鑲嵌料）:緩慢固化的透明環(huán)氧樹脂,尤其適合于復(fù)雜敏感樣品和礦物樣品的包埋，以及需要真空鑲樣的樣品。zui高使用溫度43℃。通過添加Epoxy-dye（一種熒光染料，另名epodye）,試樣的氣孔和裂紋非常容易被識(shí)別。
2. Acrylic systems 聚丙烯酸樹脂類（亞克力樹脂）
AcryMount亞克力樹脂：對(duì)普通樣品進(jìn)行常規(guī)的鑲嵌,尤其對(duì)于小的樣品和單個(gè)的樣品，操作起來方便快捷，室溫9-10分鐘固化，透明無色。
3. Polyester systems 聚酯類
PolyMount：用于大批量試樣的常規(guī)鑲樣，*用于無氣孔和裂紋的簡(jiǎn)單樣品。室溫45分鐘固化，透明。
這里介紹一種PolyAcryMount：一種含有填充劑的三組分樹脂，用于更復(fù)雜試樣的鑲嵌，硬度高，幾乎無收縮，良好的平面度和邊角保護(hù)。
